Float tank tour

I have been getting lots of questions about our float tank.  Here is a video tour of our tank.  Let me know if you have any questions, there is a contact form on the main page of the blog or you can post a comment.

  1. Thanks so much for the tour. I just started floating last month. Due to neck pain, I find that it takes awhile for my neck to relax and so I just ordered the Floatease Halo and I'm looking forward to trying it out. Happy that it's in Canadian dollars!

    1. Janice,
Thank you for your feedback. I am so glad you discovered floating! Yes Canadian dollars are great especially for me!

      So glad I could help!

  2. Jim, I read a blog you wrote about three or four years ago about your floating experience and how it gave you relief from your back pain. We I read your blog, I had recently bulged several disc doing squats and was looking for pain relief and healing. Based on your blog, I went on a quest to find one of these "float tanks". I live in San Antonio, Texas and the closest at the time was in somebodies basement in Houston. That wasn't going to fly. About 6 months later I searched again and a brand new commercial center had opened in Austin. So my husband and I took the 90 minute drive north and WOW is all I can say. I was pain free, my stress was reduced, I emerged feeling amazing. It was life changing. Fast forward three years and my husband and I opened San Antonio's first commercial float center, iSofloat. You can read my webpage ( and listen to podcast I've done and I give you the credit. So, I wanted to take a minute to say "THANK YOU". Your blogging about floating, changed not only my life but hundreds of people in San Antonio now because iSofloat is healing people that are physically and mentally hurt. For anybody considering a float therapy season, do it! It is healing mentally and physically like you can't even imagine. Again, thank you Jim! In part, I was in the right place at the right time but you planted a seed that has grown into the manifestation of a dream.

PS- We use/provide Floatease in our center for our clients. ;-)

    1. Sloane,

Thank you so much for your feedback. Blogging does not come easy to me, I'm a hands on coach so hearing about how I was able to help you and that you are able to now help others is the kind of encouragement I need to keep going. Thank you for making my day!

Chill the "F" out ......

In today’s episode of the Gym Laird show, I am joined in studio with my client Rachael Bertram Mathews. I ask Rachael to share her story as she has done what a lot of women do to lose weight only to gain weight. She shares how she: – Was training boot camp 4 days a week at 5am
– How her previous coach told her to add more cardio once she plateaued
– How her motivation dwindled and she couldn’t bring herself to go to boot camp
– Discovered powerlifting when her friend told her about Gym Laird
– Why I told her she needed to train less and calm down when they started working together
– Once she got her nutrition and exercise in check how her moods changed
– Why she benefits from having a coach
– Why self care is important Left pic: 3 years of 3-4 times a week 5 am boot camp. Last 6-8 months added a second session a day. Weight was 160 lbs and gaining weight while overtraining. Right pic:
Training with me for 3 years. Strength training 3 times per week. 4 powerlifting meets, lifestyle change, ma…
